Brinks Home Security

Brinks Home Security was a subsidiary of The Brinks Company which started in 1859 and is widely known for its armored trucks. In 2008, the spin-off of Brinks Home Security Holdings, Inc. as a stand-alone publicly-traded company was official. As a condition of the spin-off, the company was required to change its brand, and in 2009, launched the new brand, Broadview Security.^[3]

On May 12, 2010, Tyco International acquired Broadview Security, formerly Brinks Home Security, in a transaction valued at $2.0 billion. As part of the merger, Broadview's Security services were transitioned to the company's ADT Security brand. Now all of Brinks Home Security customers are monitored by ADT. ADT also services the monitored Brinks Home Security Systems throughout the United States.

Broadview Security, Formerly Brinks Home Security was Purchased by ADT

On Jan. 19, 2010 Tyco International, owners of the ADT business, announced that it was purchasing Broadview Security, formerly known as Brinks Home Security. Broadview Security came into existence in June 2009, having formerly been known as Brink's Home Security. Brink's Home Security itself was a spin-off of the Brink's Company, this being their residential and commercial security installing business that they developed alongside the well-known Brink's cash transport business.
