Posted by Taniqua Pino on Tue,May 02,2017 @ 12:19 AM

More and more of your neighbors and neighbors across America are investing in monitored home security systems. The reality is becoming obvious that burglaries are not just happening in “other” peoples neighborhoods. You’d be hard pressed to find a person that doesn't have a neighbor, a work mate, or a personal friend that has not experienced a break-in of some kind.

Experts estimate that the percentage of homes with security systems will at least double over the next 5 years. Not surprising with many police departments advertising that 87 % of burglaries are considered preventable. Not all the reasons are that obvious though...

Here’s 5 reasons your neighbors are investing in monitored home alarms for their homes:

  • Crime statistics are becoming hard to ignore.
  • Security systems are more affordable than ever
  • People are busier than ever
  • Home security as a home automation platform makes Smart home features affordable for the average home.
  • You no longer have to choose between "outdated" hardwired system or wireless home security.

Update: As of April 19th the ADT Pulse skill for Alexa is available. Enable it here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NARHJWE?ref=skillrw_dsk_new_gw_1.

.............................................

Like millions of families across America, we invited Alexa into our home last year. We're flat out smitten with her! In January, like many others, we heard the exciting news that the ADT Pulse skill was coming to Alexa and our ADT Pulse system, would have limited voice control through Alexa.

If you haven't met Alexa, she is the personality and virtual assistant for Amazon. She is most commonly found on Amazon's devices Echo and Echo Dot. If that still doesn't ring a bell, you'll recognize her very popular, distant cousin Siri. Siri's the personality and virtual assistant for Apple. Alexa is the personality and virtual assitant for Amazon's Echo devices.

Think You Have Nothing to Steal… Think Again… What About Identity Theft?

Posted by Taniqua Pino on Tue,Oct 25,2016 @ 03:31 PM

"I don't have anything to steal," says Jonathon to the security consultant while discussing home security.

It's a common response one hears as a security system consultant. "We're just starting out," "We are minimalists and most of what we have is not worth much," similar statements are made to reflect that even in the event of a break-in, the monetary value of what might bet taken is small.

While this can be true, this picture shows a safe that was in our own Bill Wood's clients' home. A couple that did not think about their identity being stolen and now all of their important papers are in the hands of a burglar. This safe was tucked away in an Attic.

Having your personal papers stolen can lead to identity theft. Information as simple as the mail on your counter can lead to months of being drug through hell as someone else assumes your identity and wreaks havoc on your credit, bank accounts and life.

2 Simple Ways to Get FREE ADT Monitoring

Posted by Taniqua Pino on Tue,Oct 25,2016 @ 03:03 PM

"How," you ask, "Do I get FREE ADT Monitoring?"

Here's one option, imagine this:

Pierce, your neighbor drops by at 11:36pm to use your cell. His power is out, his cell is dead and he's got a huge client meeting in the morning... only if he confirms before 8am that is. As you open the door... because you are literally the nicest neighbor on this planet, the ADT Pulse activated lamp comes on. After Pierce makes his phone call, he asks if the light is wired to the door.

"No, it's ADT." You say... after all, your not exactly chatty Kathy at 11:30pm.

"Oh, I been thinking about getting an alarm. Did you like the company?"

You think for a minute, "Yes. Actually, their rep Brandon came out and it was one of the best customer service experiences we've had."

"Cool," he says... "Can I get their number?"

You might have actually glared at him...

He gets it... "Not now, tomorrow is great. You go back to bed."

Pierce leaves, he gets the phone number and a HUGE client thanks to you. You get a Visa gift card for $200 in about 6 weeks thanks to him. That pays 3-5 months of your ADT monitoring, depending on your service level.

This actually happens all the time! Clients tells us their friend "just noticed" their alarm. Many times, people will ask about it. IF we've done our job and earned your trust, your part is simple. Hopefully it doesn't happen at 11:30pm in your case.

A second option is for professionals that interact with homeowners, check below to see if you qualify to be one of our referral partners and earn many referral rewards. Rewards that many professionals gift back to their clients keep them coming back to you again and again. Check out the Referral Partner Programs section below.

Posted by Taniqua Pino on Thu,Oct 13,2016 @ 09:33 AM

There's two kinds of people when it comes to your home's security system and ADT Specials. There's those that pay the first price they see. Then there's those that love yard sales, they've haggled over the price of a $1 sombrero in some tiny tourist town south of the border or those that merely watched a TV show where someone argued with a guy named John until John paid him to take a 1971 RV off his hands.

We figure you are the second person. Mainly because you are reading this post. We get your need for a quality product at a price that will make you burst into song.

Have You Taken the Necessary Steps to Stop Summer Break-ins? 12 Prevention Tips!

Posted by Taniqua Pino on Thu,Jul 14,2016 @ 12:13 PM

When I was younger, I remember leaving my purse in the car to run into places. You could also leave the windows down on you car and not lock doors. Upon return, your items were right where you left them, every time.

You probably agree those days are gone... possibly L-O-N-G gone. We'd best take some precautions to keep our belongings just that... our belongings!

Here at California Security Pro, we hope this is the most exciting or if you prefer, the most relaxing Summer of your life. The memories you make should be at your choosing, not in response to a break-in or theft.

Summer Safety Tips for your home's security...

You probably already know that burglary numbers go up for the summer months. Thadeus the thief must like the nice weather too... he's extra active during the warmer months. A possible reason sited is you are out enjoying the great weather and summer festivities. Whatever reasons old Thad is on the prowl, there are some simple tips to keep him out of your house.

1. Don't open the door unless you know the person - You definitely want to go to the door and let the person on the other side know that people are home. A common practice for burglars is to knock and knock to verify the house is empty and then break-in. So ask who it is through a locked door and tell the salesman or lost person or kid looking to give you a free exterior paint quote that it's not a good time. You are washing killer, your 100 pound wolf/rottweiler mix or just on a conference call. This will also save you from all the scams that come knocking on your door during summer.
