In September of 1962, the world fell in love with Home Automation. It wasn't ADT Pulse yet but America had it's first delectable taste of a TV that lowerred from the ceiling at the push of a button and a Robot maid. This would all come to be called home automation and it is here to stay.
Who owned the original Primetime Smart Home that aired on Sunday nights? It was also the first program broadcast in color. You give up?
54 years later, many of these futuristic ideas are a reality and yet, a very small portion of society is "living the dream" of the Smart Home. What we'll look at today is the opportunity to bring a Jetson's type home into your home along with your investment in home security.
Although not all Americans have embraced home automation, most Americans are using it (and LOVING it) whether they realize it or not. One of the most basic automation is an alarm clock. You tell it that you want it to alert you that it's time to wake up and it automatically does it. This priniciple can be applied to a new device in a new way every day. While "Home Automation" sounds confusing to many, we are already doing it. Do you have a motion activated light that turn on when you walk by. It's an automated action, you tell it that you want it to turn on when you walk by and it does what you tell it to automatically.
This exciting new world can now be applied to lights that act one way during the day another way when you are on vacation and another way when you are working from home. It gets set up once and a simple click to tell it what mode you want them working in is all that's needed to reenact those rules. And truly, it's not much harder than setting your alarm clock.
A quick look at this graph will show that most american cite their home security as the top benefit of their home automation. This graph is part of a 6 part series called the Connected World Market Insights Series. It focusses on home energy management and as a benefit financial savings.
As much as we all want to be savvy with our money, it's a fringe benefit here, fifty percent of those that invest in home automation are shoosing it primarily for expanded control of their security alarm.
As an ADT dealer offering the ADT Pulse product, over 80% of new installs are ADT Pulse.
You are not in the miniority if you say that you don't see how home automation would be a benefit for you. What we find is
home automation benefits everyone. You'll se that too when it's seen in action... Check it out here:Here's some of the benefits you will use often if not daily:
Energy management is just one way that an ADT Pulse home security system utilizes home automation, there's so much more! ADT Pulse Thermostats work like your every day programable thermostat that you are used to. You ALSO can access it via mobile app if you get stuck at work and aren't on your regular schedule. If you stop to have drinks with friends, you can stop the thermometer from getting the house ready for you to arrive home from work and reallocate those heating costs into the strawberry-basil margarita fund (YUM!).
ADT Pulse also offers lamp modules to remotely control your lights and small appliances, or lights switches and dimmers. You can set up scenarios to make your home look occupied while you are out of town. Even if you forget, you can use your mobile app to turn from the airport. You can also use voice commands with your mobile device.
The landscape of places where you can access your security is also growing. Newer Samsung TV's have the Pulse app, pause the big game, select the app with your remote and see who is at the door without leaving your couch. Also access ADT Pulse through your SYNC app on many newer Ford models. The SYNC app you are already using can now disarm you system via voice prompt and many other commands. Also ADT Pulse can connect to SCE customers’ Edison SmartConnect meters to show home energy consumption, historical energy usage information, daily energy bill estimates and energy savings alerts. Finally, the ring doorbell that allows you to see who is at our door and respond from anywhere, using your mobile device, now integrates with ADT Pulse to allow actions like unlocking the door for the dog sitter or turning the porch light on when a strange person comes near the doorbell and is causing concern.
Stay tuned for more ways ADT Pulse works with companies you already know and love to create more meaning full assitance to the way you live and control your families security.
