Once ADT Pulse has been installed you can then personalize your system by creating unique automations, schedules and alerts. You can also add additional devices to the system at any time. Some devices, such as lamp modules can be simply plugged into existing electrical outlets similar to the way you use an automatic timer. For Level 1 Pulse that allows you to remotely arm or disarm your system, receive text/email alerts and schedule events, no special home equipment is needed. We will install the complete system that can be accessed from any Internet ready device such as a smart phone, tablet or PC.
For the more advanced Level 2 or 3 Pulse system that allows video monitoring and home automation, we will access your high-speed Internet connection. The installer will connect the ADT Pulse gateway to an open port on your router.

In most instances, ADT's alarm monitoring services works with many VoIP providers that have a qualified managed facility voice network such as Comcast and AT&T Uverse. As long as you have phone service that is compatible, we use that connection for transmitting alarm signals and events to ADT's alarm monitoring stations.
The video cameras only push video out when an event occurs or when you log in to see live video so the effect on your broadband should be minimal.
Any cable or DSL speed that is equal to or higher than 256kbps up/1.5mbps down should work with cameras connected to the ADT Pulse system. If your broadband connections are less than this you many not be able to support more than two cameras. Satellite Internet services may result in more ADT Pulse outage notifications due to weather conditions and is not recommended.
Z-wave is a wireless technology used to control your ADT Pulse devices remotely. Here are some of the Z-wave-enabled devices available:
