Punxsutawney Phil, the world’s most famous furry forecaster, failed to see his shadow, meaning spring is right around the corner, or so the folklore says. Guillermo Espinoza was the shooter in the brutal, Jan. 17, 1998, slaying on the on ramp to the eastbound 91 freeway from East Street in Anaheim—a crime that was orchestrated by Begaren's newlywed husband, who went on to collect nearly $1 million from her life insurance policy. Stingray Intercepts helped nab "2K bandit" - The only known Orange County case in which cellular intercept technology was used involved a serial bank robber whom police dubbed the “2K bandit.” He earned his moniker by passing notes to bank tellers demanding exactly $2,000 in cash.
