ADT Pulse is a Cellular Security System
One of the fantastic things about the ADT Pulse Security System is that it does not require a phone line to communicate to you or the ADT Central Station.
There are four distinct advantages of a cellular security system:
- First, you don’t need phone service to have the protection of the ADT Pulse system.
- Secondly, if you do currently have phone service at your home, there is never a worry about scheduling a service call for your alarm if you decide to change your phone service provider.
- Thirdly, the ADT Pulse is able to more quickly connect to central station in the event of an emergency. The ADT Pulse uses a cellular connection (around 6 seconds) to the central station instead of phone dial up which normally takes up to 24 seconds. If you have a security system that is setup with a phone-line and also has a backup cellular connection, in the event of phone failure it could take 30 seconds or more to connect to Central Station.
- Most importantly, there is never a worry of a burglar disarming your alarm system by cutting your phone lines at the side of your home.
The next step for ADT Pulse Home Security System will be the addition of of SecurityLink. Hopefully, within the next few months the ADT Pulse system will be able to use it’s cellular connection to allow for SecurityLink voice communication during an emergency. Currently, you can not have two-way voice communication with the ADT Pulse System. The future of the ADT Pulse platform will be to give you control of lighting, climate control and integrate with a home video surveillance system remotely from your mobile device. The technology is here but is not yet being widely implemented.
ADT Pulse is changing and will continue to change the way you use your “security system”. The lifestyle options are endless and the security of your home and family are now in the palm of your hand.
