Crime in California is on the lips of many California residents this time of year with many headlines pointing to Oakland Crime as the worst city in California. However...  "The FBI released its annual Crime in the United States report earlier this month, headlines throughout California read that the city of Oakland was the most “crime-ridden” city in the Golden State. However, a deeper dive into the numbers reveals that when it comes to overall crime rate – violent crime incidents plus property crime incidents per 1,000 people – it’s Emeryville that actually has the highest rate of crime in the California. This potluck party is held to feed the homeless. Bring a warmed dish of food, blankets, warm clothes or toiletries and help us assemble meals to take out to the people living on the streets. The historic Kellogg House in Santa Ana will be hosting a Holly Berry Tea on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 11:00- 2:00 PM and the Silver Bell Tea on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 11:30 AM. These Victorian tea parties will be hosted by the Victorian Tea Society who will be dressed in period attire. The house will be decorated for the holiday season and there will be tasty treats to enjoy and fine teas to sip. The OC Central Holiday Food Swap --Holiday Edition will be held on December 14, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. For this event you would bring something you made, grew of foraged for yourself (for example:pickles, preserves, baked goods, honey, granola, pasta, fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices) to swap and enjoy with other participants. Although this is a free event, there is a cap on the number of swappers who may enter, so if you are interested in participating be sure to register early.
